Here is how this treatment works. First the skin-to-be-treated undergoes numbing. Then when the pen is positioned on the face, twelve stainless-steel needles generate thousands of microscopic openings, allowing for enhanced contracting and tightness, while helping products infiltrate the skin.
In fact through this process, you are generating fresh, vigorous collagen in the dermal layer, but they are so tiny that you get this enormous increase of collagen to rebuild the wound while thickening up the skin, but keep in mind the skin will at first, a little red and swollen, comparable to a sunburn, after a few days, however, the skin is superior than the normal skin you are used to.
However the SkinPen is not just for wrinkles... In fact the SkinPen also treats acne scarring, hyper-pigmentation, fine-lines, damage from the sun and stretch marks. The SkinPen can also be used on more than just the face, in fact, patients have gotten treatments on their necks, their arms, even hands, legs, abdomen and/or their backs.
Additionally there are treatments like micro-dermabrasion that scrapes-off the top layer of skin, allowing for more cellular throughput, and slows the aging process. It costs in the arena of $150 with an expected recovery time of three days.
The associated peels involve a chemical solution smeared on the skin, because over time, the top strata’s of skin will peel off, permitting for new skin growth.
