WHY YOU SHOULD CONSIDER A MASSAGE MEMBERSHIP
A past experience at a nearby massage school got me thinking about how folks can hold thoughts about things they don’t have any experience with or understanding of. The discussion I held with this misinformed person was not a pleasurable one, chiefly because he called another owner a peon in our industry instead of questioning what her real role was first.
I was about to go-off on a tirade about the experience, but have elected to make this a more educational post… So here are a few things you ought to know concerning membership-based massage clinics:
THEY STAFF A LARGE NUMBER OF REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPISTS
One glance at any career website will demonstrate this point. LMT’s are in high-demand. Compared to a few years ago where job openings were very limited… As of now, member-based massage brands are now the principal employers of LMT’s across the entire industry.
THEY BROUGHT MASSAGE INTO THE MAINSTREAM
Everybody knows the health and beauty sector is thriving, with no signs of it slowing anytime soon. As a result the public’s mindfulness of alternative medicine has shot up over the previous ten years; and who has been propelling the marketing money into taking massage to the public on nationwide scale? Member-based clinics.
THEY ARE A GREAT PLACE TO GET REALLY GOOD
Upon graduating from massage school I only had one purpose, to get my hands on as many patients as possible in order to improve my skills with “real customers.” Member-based clinics pump millions every year into getting customers through the door simply so therapists can treat them. A big misunderstanding for newbie therapists is that clientele is just are just going to appear out of nowhere and line up for treatments... False. It takes a ton of effort, lots of time, and all of one’s finances to build a thriving practice. However, member-based massage businesses do everything in their control to bring the clients to the LMT’s. All the massage therapist has to focus on is being really good at what they do.
MOST OFFER CONTINUING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES:
Very few careers out there these days will give you training or the money it takes to go out and take any/all the courses you are actually interested in, in order to upgrade your talents. Our company aims to employ therapists whose goal it is to continue learning and excelling in their profession.
THERAPISTS CAN FOCUS ON THEIR CRAFT
Visualize a job where literally the one thing you have to do is precisely what you have chosen to do, massage. LMT’s working at member-based clinics only need to get to work, massage their clients, complete proper documentation of the treatment, and occasionally fold the a little laundry. There is no need to file insurance claims. No need for scheduling duty. No need to deal with sick days. No tracking down payment. No overhead. No bills. In other words, none of the non-fun stuff that comes with owning a practice.
IT MAKES GETTING MASSAGES REGULARLY MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE
The business-model is simple... Customers sign up to receive at least one massage per month, on a month-to-month basis, and in return they get preferred pricing. This makes it possible for people to receive more treatments with their own funds or with their allotted insurance money. In addition it makes it reasonably priced enough for people who need to get massage regularly but who otherwise couldn’t afford it.
IT INSPIRES GETTING MASSAGE MORE REGULARLY
Just a few years ago, who did you know that could afford or who went for at least a massage every month? I am not just talking about when they are hurt or super... I mean at least once monthly; and on a consistent basis. Most likely the answer is nobody. These days, however, how many folks do you know of who get massage regularly? The data is out there publicizing the benefits of regular massage treatments. How many of them are saying, “I just do not have time?” Many do, but the truth is, massage plans keep people regular by prompting them to take time to care for themselves as well as making financially encouraging.
GREAT QUALITY OF MASSAGE THERAPY
This is a big misunderstanding with regards to member-based clinics. It’s no doubt, that all massage-therapists are created equal. But, that comes with any health-based business. The truth is member-based massage companies have some truly amazing therapists working for them.
It all boils down to the customer discovering the best-fitting LMT who can meet their specific needs. If the patron and their therapist “gel” together and the client sees improvement in their condition, does it even matter where they decide on to go to have their massage treatments performed?
